Frequently asked questions.
Are you an Immigration Attorney?
No. I am a California Registered and Bonded Immigration Consultant. I am not a licensed attorney and I am not authorized to practice law in California or any other state.
What services do you provide?
I provide non-legal assistance with immigration matters. My primary role is meticulous document preparation and clerical support, including: Accurately completing immigration forms (USCIS, NVC, etc.) based on the information you provide. Gathering, organizing, and assembling your supporting documents and evidence. Translating documents (Spanish/English). Submitting forms or requesting documents to the appropriate government agency on your behalf.
Can you represent me in court or before USCIS?
No. Only a licensed immigration attorney or a BIA-accredited representative can legally represent you in immigration court or before USCIS in a legal capacity.
Can you choose the correct immigration forms for my situation?
No. Choosing which forms to file based on your circumstances, legal history, or eligibility is considered legal advice. I will prepare the forms that you select and provide based on your knowledge of your case.
This is why it is extremely important to talk to an experienced immigration attorney to ensure that you qualify for an immigration benefit, especially if you have negative immigration history or criminal record.
Why should I choose a Registered Immigration Consultant?
Choosing a consultant who is officially Registered and Bonded in California ensures you are working with a professional who meets state-mandated requirements for ethical conduct, financial security, and disclosure. My registration confirms my commitment to operating within the law.
When is an Immigration Consultant a better choice than an attorney?
For cases that are generally considered straightforward and administrative, such as routine green card renewals, DACA renewals, family petitions (I-130) or green card applications where there are no complicating legal issues (e.g., criminal history, prior denials, or complex inadmissibility concerns). My service offers the benefit of expert, meticulous form preparation at a more cost-effective rate than attorney-led services, saving you money on legal fees you may not need.
With so much riding on my application, why shouldn’t I hire an attorney right away?
For many common family immigration forms, the key to a successful submission is completeness and accuracy. I provide the highest level of detail in non-legal preparation. By starting with my meticulous service, you ensure the paperwork is flawless from the outset, minimizing RFE risk due to clerical errors. If a true legal complication arises later, you can then use the cost savings to retain a specialized attorney for that specific, complex issue.
What if a complication comes up after I hire your services?
If, during our process, we discover a potential legal complexity (like a past issue or an inadmissibility concern) that requires a legal strategy, I will immediately advise you to seek consultation with a licensed immigration attorney. My service will halt until you receive legal advice. This ensures you get the necessary legal protection without risking a denial due to a non-legal professional overstepping their bounds.
What is your expertise based on?
My expertise is built on over 10 years of experience in successfully assisting with family immigration documentation and a professional commitment to staying current on all USCIS and NVC procedures and filing requirements. My dedication ensures your documents are prepared with precision to meet the government's procedural standards.
What is your fee structure?
I charge a flat fee for specific immigration consultant services, which will be clearly outlined in a written contract before any work begins. This fee only covers my non-legal document preparation service and does not include USCIS/government filing fees.
My goal is to provide you with Meticulous Document Preparation for Confident Immigration Submissions!
